Description of Duties:

Experience with sponsor-supported clinical research and IRB clinical trials and HIPPA regulations preferred The position will be responsible for the collection and maintenance of data for research purposes as well as clinical outcome data. Individual will assist with the development of research protocols and will perform duties within the clinical ultrasound procedure laboratory and ERCP procedure area. Must be a self-motivated individual who can be independent and work on projects with multiple deadlines, unknown parameters, and inter-disciplinary impact. Coordinate GI Division's clinical /endoscopic research program by collecting and maintaining research and outcome data; creating electronic databases; developing research protocols; and performing clinical ultrasound duties; working in animal lab. Coordinate and maintain prospective research log books of each EUS and ERCP performed

and possibly additional procedures in future. Coordinate clinical drug trials sponsored by outside agencies. Develop new research protocols including study design. Maintain EUS research databases by collecting and analyzing data regarding tumor staging, surgical findings, and clinical follow-up including survival data on all EUS cases. Independently function in the ultrasound laboratory on EUS related projects, which may involve handling human or animal tissue for analysis and work the small animals. Assist with the organization of divisional CME courses, EUS workshops/courses which will be given periodically. Assist with the preparation of research abstracts fir presentation at GI and EUS-specific national meetings. Work collaboratively with physicians to collect clinical data for EUS programs. Direct patient care interaction. Prepare IRB applications for protocols. Perform other

related duties incidental to the work described herein

 

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Required. Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Must have typing skills and basic computer skills of Word and Excel.
